Canada Winter Fun – how we work on our designs…

Winter Fun - work in progress...
Canada Gift Winter Fun Tea Towel Hockey Skating Snowman

It starts from the initial idea that gives us the inspiration and leads the creative process…

We wanted to have a very special towel that will picture the true Canadian winter and not just snow, but also what fun it can be!

We looked through our photo collection from several winters and our ski trips to Perth, Ontario and Ottawa area. We discovered a lot of great material – kids skating on frozen pond, a snow hill with kids on sleds,  snow covered bridge over the river, an old church and a farm… and so by arranging all those images into our “winter story” we had a live sketch.

This sketch later took a more defined form and finally was taken over by the talented artist who turned all these into a beautiful artwork that you see on the towel. We soured the high quality linen material, found the production partner and the new towel was born…

Our Journey

Hi there! Sure you opened this page to know who we are.  MapleLeafGift is a small family business and we produce a variety of gift and souvenir items. Our family loves to travel and we’ve seen may places in Canada and in the world!

The ideas for our products mainly come during these trips – we go visit the farm to let the kids know how the Maple Syrup is made – here comes the design for our first tea towel with Maple Syrup design! Later – potholder and bone china coffee mug… Summer camping and canoeing on the Grand River (Waterloo) was a background for creating the towel designs featuring Ontario Wild Flowers and Nature Trails, so popular St. Jacobs Farmers Market  reflected on the towel along  with sketches of local attractions…

We are always looking for new ideas and create new designs… Keep coming back and check for new items!

Our Products Showcase

We offer high quality 100% Natural Linen Tea Towel. I don’t like calling it dish towels – sure they are best to dry the dishes with. These days the dishwashers took over washing and drying, so why the towel? I like using linen to dry the glasses – leaves them sparkling! Cover the bread basket or the resting pie just from the oven, use on a coffee table as a tablecloth, hang over your stove handle and use to dry the hands…

Love my family, travel and all things natural...
